In its third year, “An Evening Among the Roses” (3 June 2016) at The Huntington Library is a stylish start to LGBT Pride Week. It has all the gentility of Downton Abbey, but better food and weather and the fashion is definitely forward. This year, the party heralded the arrival of a Freddie Mercury rose. The cost to attend is rather dear ($95 for general admission or $145 for the VIP treatment), but you don’t have to marry a count or be a lord or lady and worry about producing an heir or spare. Less drama in this case is a good thing.
